I just don't understand why so many people take "What if Superman and Chuck Norris were in the same universe!!!!!!" as analysis. You look at the piece of media, work of art, what have you, and draw out the themes based on what is *available in the text* and occasionally some biographical or historical context if appropriate. What exactly does the "😮😮 same universe??" stuff add to the games? Very little! If you're taking a "shared vibe" as evidence of a shared universe, that's literally all it would add to the themes: Wow, now I know that these two games are in the same crappy world, and I know that because...they're both set in a crappy world! The only meaningful bit of evidence for any sort of "shared universe" is that logo that the creator chose to include in two of the games and, get this, chose **not** to include in the others! This is an element that you can actually analyze: How is it used? The uses are all intentional - it's not like some tree with the logo carved onto it by lightning accidentally fell in some ink and then onto some papers - so one is naturally led to the question of *who* is placing this logo, *why* they're doing this, *what* does this logo represent, etc. Not that hard
